Music/Worship Leader
Job Description
Principle function – The leader is responsible for developing and promoting the music ministry of the church.
Qualifications:
- Will become a member of First Baptist Church Riesel
- Be a dedicated Christian who maintains a vital personal relationship with Jesus Christ
- Have a heart soft for the Lord and those seeking to worship and walk His ways
- An attitude and communications style that reflects understanding of servant leadership
- Able to interpret and support our church’s values through our music ministry
- Ability to play piano or guitar (preferred but not required)
Responsibilities
- Work closely with the pastor and other staff, as well as all volunteer musicians, to coordinate music that follows the theme of the service
- Choose songs and conduct the music for the Sunday morning worship service
- Be committed to a blended worship style that is creative, flexible and diverse
- Organize the music ministry in our church by encouraging other members in areas like playing instruments and singing
- Coordinate any special music in the worship service
- Encourage spiritual growth in the persons they work with and serve
- Oversee and manage sound and video equipment for services
- Assist with planning special and seasonal programs
- Assist with Youth and Children’s Directors with musical needs
Commitments:
- Must be available 3 hours per week (9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.) each Sunday morning
- Preferred availability for special evening services (Christmas Eve, Good Friday, 5th Sunday)
