BASIC FUNCTION:
The Worship Leader is responsible for planning, coordinating and leading Sunday morning
worship.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIP:
The Worship Leader reports directly to the Pastor.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. To be willing to work as a team member along with the pastor, leadership and musicians at
First Baptist Church in the planning and leading of worship.
2. Keep up to date with the physical and spiritual needs of those involved in the music ministry.
3. Coordinate, recruit, and rehearse with all instrumentalists and vocalists as needed.
4. Plan and present special worship and other special music programs as appropriate.
5. Prepare annual music budget to be recommended.
6. Stay current on relevant music and utilizing them where appropriate.
7. Perform or assist in weddings or funerals as needed.
8. Attend staff or committee meetings when appropriate.
QUALIFICATIONS
1. The ability to listen effectively and to communicate clearly, both orally and in written form
2. Excellent speaking skills and the ability to speak confidently before groups
3. Quality leadership skills
4. Basic ability to use computer software as needed
5. Commitment to biblical principles and teachings both professionally and personally
6. Be physically able to properly perform duties
7. Must pass background check

Salary: $200 per week plus reimbursable expenses
