Job Description – Part Time Administrative Assistant
General Position Expectation: The administrative assistant is responsible to oversee all activities of the main
church office in harmony with the church’s mission statement. He/she will work under the supervision of the
Pastor.
Skills Required:
1. Dependable
2. Communication and interpersonal skills having the ability to work effectively with a variety of
personalities
3. Strong organization skills
4. Excellent secretarial skills
Qualifications:
1. Proficiency in the use of standard office tools (computer, copy machine, etc)
2. A working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc)
3. A working knowledge of QuickBooks
4. Multi-tasking and can prioritize projects
5. Able to handle church related telephone calls properly/professionally
6. Required to complete and pass a background check
7. Spiritual maturity and commitment to a Christian lifestyle
Duties and Responsibilities:
Process payroll and pay all incoming bills and invoices
Type, compose and print routine letters and weekly bulletins
Screen and route all incoming calls properly and professionally
Coordinate schedule for weddings, funerals and baptisms
Keep accurate membership records (new members, baptisms, weddings, deaths, etc)
Maintain office files and schedules – keep an up-to-date church calendar
Post receipts and disbursements in proper ledger
Post weekly contributions to individual contributor accounts
Reconcile church financial records with monthly bank statements
Assist church staff in ordering necessary supplies
Supervise office volunteers
Dress is business casual
Other responsibilities as agreed upon under the direction of the Pastor
This position is part time and will require 10-15 hours/week.
