Part-Time Nursery Coordinator Search
First Baptist Crawford is looking for a Christian who desires to lead a safe, fun nursery environment in which our young children can grow in their understanding of the grace of Jesus. FBC has many devoted volunteers, and the nursery is currently 100% volunteer led. FBC is looking to hire a paid staff person in order to: a) have a consistent nursery teacher to coordinate lessons for children b) coordinate volunteers and c) ensure supplies/facilities remain adequate for the needs of our children. The role is primarily a Sunday morning/Wednesday night commitment, with the possibility of no more than 6 Sunday evenings in a year.
Nursery Coordinator Responsibilities:
– Be a Christian with an active faith
– Work in 2-5yr old nursery room vast majority of Sundays (40-45 Sundays) o Coordinate lessons (curriculum available)
o Guide volunteers in lessons in use
o Create a fun environment for children
o Work well with church volunteers
o Be aware of abuse prevention requirements for self and volunteers (Ministry Safe is the platform we use for background checks and safety training required of staff and volunteers)
– Check supplies & request refills (diapers, wipes, snacks)
– Organize Volunteers
o Use church management software to automate reminders for volunteers – Sanitize nursery
– Communicate facility concerns
– Communicate with parents as needed
– Organize room as needed
Availability requirements:
– Sunday mornings, 9am-11:45am
– One Sunday evening every other month (for 2.5-3 hrs)
– Wednesday evenings, 6:15-7:45pm
o Wednesday evenings follow the Crawford ISD school calendar (i.e. no activities at church during thanksgiving, spring break, Christmas break, etc.), and there is a 6- week summer study on Wednesdays during the summer.
