General Position Expectation: The primary purpose of the minister of youth is to introduce young people to Christ;
disciple them in spiritual growth; train them in serving Christ. The minister of youth is responsible for planning,
coordinating, and ministering to the youth in harmony with the church’s mission statement. He/She will work under the
supervision of the pastor.

5. Compassionate and sensitive to the needs and pressures of teens with a biblical knowledge of possible solutions
Qualifications:
1. Inspirational, spirit-filled leadership
2. Demonstrates a gift of relating and ministering to the youth
3. Spiritual maturity and commitment to a Christian lifestyle
4. Required to become a member of this church
5. Required to complete and pass a background check
6. Preferred to obtain a CDL license to operate the church vehicles
Duties and Responsibilities:
 Shares Christ with youth, leading them to church membership, help them to grow spiritually, and provide
opportunities for their Christian ministry
 Coordinates and directs all youth lessons for Sunday school, Sunday evenings, and Wednesday evenings
 Plan, direct, conduct, and evaluate a comprehensive youth ministry, taking into consideration the spiritual,
physical, recreational, social, and psychological development of youth
 Provide a safe and secure educational environment
 Make yourself available to youth in a variety of ways (lunch at school, attendance at extracurricular activities,
visitation, times of crisis, etc)
 Communicate with all appropriate personnel/volunteers before youth lessons and activities and attend staff
meetings once a month
 Encourage youth to attend special programs of spiritual growth and fellowship such as camps, lock-ins, retreats,
meetings, and/or banquets
 Develop and/or coordinate the annual summer youth camp
 During Sunday morning service make church announcements and welcome visitors
 Responsible for getting background checks for volunteers working with the youth
 Demonstrate a positive and friendly attitude with the youth
 Obtain a substitute when on vacation or absent form services
 Prepare an annual budget for youth ministry needs and administer the approved budget according to church
policy
 Maintain a consistent program of self-improvement
 Other responsibilities as agreed upon under the direction of the pastor
